My motivations:
In the summer of 2014, I invited nine fabulous women to join me at The Salmon Lodge in the Gaspé for five days of fishing, friendship and fun. We called ourselves the Salmon Sisters, and we shared an incredible experience. I have put together a different group of dynamic women every year since then, and we continue to get together and deepen our friendships, on and off the river.
I'm also very fortunate to be on the board of the Ottawa Senators Foundation. I'd never thought of participating in 24H Tremblant before, because I thought of it only as a ski event. But when I realized that we could put together a team of walkers -- and that the event would raise so much money for the Foundation, our wonderful programs and the kids we support -- it made so much sense to mobilize the Salmon Sisters!
Our first relay team consisted of 10 women. Last year, we had 18 walkers on two teams. We're back to a small but mighty team of 10 this year, and our goal is to raise $1,000 each. No donation is too small -- then again, no donation is too BIG, either!
I am recovering from knee surgery, but I'll do as many laps as I can with my trusty hiking poles.
Thanks for your support to this great cause
