My motivations:
Dear friends,
I hope this finds you well. It is with great enthusiasm that I share that this is the 4th year in a row that I am participating in the Tremblant 24HR challenge, where colleagues and I will be skiing around the clock in an effort to raise much-needed funds for pediatric cancer research. If you are receiving this message, it is because I have been fortunate to have worked with you in some capacity in the past, and I come to you once again to ask for your support with this cause!
My motivations for participating once again this year stem from my little cousin's brave battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Seanny was 3 years old when he was diagnosed. His joyous smile, pleasant demeanor, and his love of Lego and minions made it easy to forget the challenges that “the C monster” forced such a young child to deal with on a daily basis.
Despite a relentless fight (which included multiple periods of remission -- and relapse), Seanny lost his battle just over 4 years ago today (on November 24, 2015) at the age of 7. While he may have earned his angel wings, his memory cannot be forgotten.
Four years ago, I asked for those around me for their support as I shaved my head for the first time in support of Leucan, and last year, I may have asked you to support me in this 24HR challenge as well. Such amazing work has been done to push critical research forward, but there is still so much left to do. This year, I have set an ambitious goal of $1000 in funds raised, and I ask for your generosity once again so that, together, we can one day kick the C monster to the curb!
Please do not feel obligated, but at the same time, please give generously :) (Tax receipts available)
