Well ... I didn't break anything last year, so it seems like an okay idea to try this again this year! Granted the 24hr event was actually the only time I skied last year. Ah well, it will be my annual dust off the skies event! Enough about that, for those of you who supported me last year (THANK YOU!!), you know the drill. We, as a team, ski for 24hours. I can tell you now, with one year under my belt, this is not as fun as it sounds. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not sure why I thought it would be fun ;) It is icy and cold and dark. It is pretty cool to have entire runs to yourself though at Tremblant - that is not an everyday occurrence. But, for all of the freezing appendages and screaming muscles, this was one of my most touching 24hrs. Children who benefit directly from the fundraising participate (and ski past me super quickly); families with children too sick to come out cheer us on. So, from the charity itself ... This year, I decided to become actively involved in this charity event whose mission is to help children in need. The Tremblant 24h has made a huge difference in the lives of sick, underprivileged or special-needs children for years. Directly or indirectly, we are all affected by the plight of children. It is so satisfying and inspiring to know that our efforts translate into real changes in their lives. None of this would have been possible without the kindness of thousands of donors. And that’s why I am asking for your support, and appealing to your generosity, to give to this deserving cause.
