The 24hours of Tremblant
Over the past 5 years I have participated in an extraordinary Event known as the 24 hours of Tremblant. It is an unbelievable experience that pushed me both physically and mentally.....
The24 hours of Tremblant was the dream of Jacques Villeneuve and his foundation. Patterned after the 24 hours of Lemans car race, they created an event that put teams of skiers on the hill for 24 hours straight with the purpose of raising funds for charity. And raise funds we did!
To date, the 24hours of Tremblant has gnerated over $ 20 million in donations for the designated children's charities. It has expanded to include a "road bike" event as well as an endurance walk. This year's goal is $ 2,000,000.
Last year, I skied an early evening as well as a 4:00 a.m. shift! I cannot describe the feeling of being part of over 200 Teams of racers crowding the start line anticipating the Event. I also cannot describe the solitude I felt riding the lift alone at sunrise looking down over this magnificent location.....
I'm asking you for a donation on my behalf for the charities being supported by our Event. I have attached an "online donation" instruction. Our team is "Brookfield / Haworth / Mohawk" and we are made up Executives and family of Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions, Haworth Furniture Systems and Mohawk Group. This year we'll be skiing again in memory of one of our teamates: Cameron Hicks, who was tragically killed in an accident on October 31st, 2014.
I cannot wait to challenge myself again at this year's 24 hours of Tremblant. I'll post updates and pictures on Facebook. We'll be on Twitter as well!
Thanks for everything you do.....
